Who we are
Street Score is run by an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. For data protection enquiries, email privacy@streetscore.app.
What data we collect
You do not need an account to use Street Score. We collect very little personal data.
When you search a postcode, our servers record:
- Your IP address
- The postcode you searched
- The date and time of your request
This comes from standard server logs and API rate limiting.
Why we collect it and our lawful basis
We process this data under legitimate interest (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) for two purposes:
Security and abuse prevention: we use IP addresses to enforce rate limits and protect the service from misuse.
Debugging and reliability: server logs help us find and fix technical problems.
Property price estimates
Street Score shows estimated property prices from a machine learning model. These are statistical estimates based on property characteristics and market data, not valuations. No automated decisions with legal or significant effects are made about you based on these estimates.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or device identifiers. We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or advertising SDKs. We do not track your location. Postcodes are entered manually by you. Search history and saved postcodes stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Data sources
Reports in Street Score come from UK Government open data: Police UK, Environment Agency, NHS England, EPC Register, Ofsted, Ofcom, DEFRA, ONS, Parliament, Food Standards Agency, and HM Land Registry. This data is about geographic areas, properties, and public institutions, not individual people. Corporate ownership data comes from HM Land Registry title registrations (CCOD/OCOD), which record legal entities, not individuals.
Who we share data with
We do not share your personal data with third parties. Our servers are hosted with a UK/EU-based infrastructure provider. No data is transferred outside the United Kingdom.
How long we keep it
Server access logs are kept for 30 days and then automatically deleted. Rate limiting data is held in memory only and cleared when the server restarts.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to our processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@streetscore.app.
Your right to object
You can object to our processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interest. Email privacy@streetscore.app and we will stop processing your data unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds.
Complaints
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
